1960's Chrome Formica Table

Question 26: the Comforter.

Evangelist John tells us in chapter 14 and 16 is surprising. Jesus had prophesied the arrival of him after a mysterious being called the "Comforter."

16.7
But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, because if I go not away, the Comforter not come to you, but if I go, I will send it.
16.8
And when he comes, he will reprove the world regarding sin, righteousness and judgment: (John)

For Christians, no room for doubt! This comforter is just the
Holy Spirit , the third person of the Trinity. the comforter is the Holy Spirit is Almighty God for Christians just as the Father and the Son.

However, the attentive reader will have some problems with some points. mainly with the following three points:

1 - Jesus said that if he does not share the Comforter will not come!

16.7
But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, because if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you , but if I 'm going, I will send. (John)

Now we know that the Holy Spirit
came to earth several times before Jesus leaves. he even came centuries before Jesus because he has inspired all the prophets and the authors of the Old Testament .

-16.23
And when the spirit of God was upon
Sau the , David took the harp and played with his hand; Saul then breathed more at ease and was relieved, and the bad spirit departed from him. (1 Samuel 16.)

- "The spirit of
the Lord speaks through me And his word is on my tongue." (2 Samuel 23:2)

-
The Lord descended in the cloud, and spake unto Moses, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and put on sixty seventy elders. And when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied but they did not continue. (Numbers 11:26)

the Holy Spirit is also came to earth at the time of Jesus:

- 3.21
all the people being baptized, Jesus was baptized, and while he was praying, heaven was opened,
3.22
and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice out of heaven, Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I am well pleased. (Luke
)

- 1.34
Mary said to the angel: How is this
Will it , since I know not a man?
1.35
The angel replied: The Holy Spirit will come upon you And the power of the Most High will overshadow. So the holy child born will be called the Son of God. (Luke
)

- 4.1
Jesus, filled with the Holy Spirit , returned from Jordan
, and was led by the Spirit in the desert,

- 4.14
Jesus bear the power of the Spirit
, returned Galilee, and his fame spread throughout the surrounding country.

- 1.13
But the angel said: Fear not, Zacharias
for thy prayer is heard. Your wife Elizabeth bear you a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
1.14
thou shalt have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth.
1.15
For he shall be great before the Lord. He shall drink no wine nor strong drink, and it will filled with the Spirit
St. from the womb;

- 1.41

Elizabeth soon heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in within it, and it was filled with the Holy Spirit.

20.21
Jesus said to them again: Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, so I send you.
20.22
After this, he breathed on them, saying: Receive the Holy Spirit .

All these verses show us that the Holy Spirit
did not need to await the departure of Jesus to come.
This contradicts the Christian position that identifies this Comforter the Holy Spirit, because the Comforter that Jesus speaks could only come if he (Jesus) goes away.

2 to 1 additional instruction to that of Jesus:

16.12
I still have lots to tell you , but you can not bear them now.

16.13
When the Comforter is come,
Spirit of truth, he will guide you into all truth for he shall not speak of himself, but he will say all that it has heard, and he will shew you things to come . (John)

Jesus tells us that he still had much to say but that these contemporaries could not wear them. Jesus' teaching was therefore according to his own confession
incomplete.

This comforter was so
complete this education.
We want to know, dear Christian friends that the Holy Spirit taught you again?
you
he announced things to come as Jesus said?

3 - the Comforter will not speak itself:

16.13
When the Comforter is come,
Spirit of truth, he will guide you into all truth; because he will not speak of himself, but he will say everything he has heard , and he will shew you things to come. (John)

As I indicated earlier, the Holy Spirit
is God Almighty to Christians. It is part of the Holy Trinity consisting of Father, Son and Holy Spirit . if this is the case, that God (Holy Spirit ) need to hear what he has to say?
God
would he unable to speak for itself?

So if we are to believe the Christian position, which is to identify the "Comforter" in
Holy Spirit, we can not avoid falling on these three issues .
Can you, dear Christian friends tell us a little about these points.
