We thus see that this council has been organizing to end the controversy between Christians and non Christians whether Jews should or should not observe the Law of Moses.
We see in this passage that there were two opposing sides: one side the Christian Pharisees who insisted that the Act should be applied by the pagans as well as Jews , and on the other side other Christians close to Paul who believed that Gentile converts should not be under the Act.

The apostles decided to give the party because of Paul but by imposing certain COMMAND converted pagans, namely: "abstain from pollutions of idols, from fornication, from things strangled and blood."

The problem is that the apostles have unfortunately forgotten an important recommendation of Christ. Indeed Jesus had already told them of his ministry at:

So Jesus had to testify the validity of the doctrine of the Pharisees who, using his own words, sat in the chair of Moses . They had a very good knowledge of the Act, only they were not applying themselves their own teaching, as Jesus says: "As they say, and do not do."

The apostles instead of following the recommendations of Jesus (Math23: 3) and rule in favor of the Pharisees in the Christian Council of Jerusalem and all follow what they say, inevitably have forgotten this and have opted for the 'Relief Act to Gentiles.

This oversight has led to the fatal error of millions of Christians and that until today!

Matthew us says here that this event was prophesied by the prophet Jeremiah. The problem here is that we have to look good this prophecy in the Book of Jeremiah, it can not be found.
In reality this is not the prophet Jeremiah who said this but the prophet Zechariah:

The Lord said: Cast it to the potter, the price at which they magnificent me felt! And I took the thirty shekels of silver and threw them into the house of the LORD to the potter. (Zechariah)




Evangelist Matthew was so wrong prophet, instead of attributing the prophecy in Zechariah who is the real author, he falsely attributed to Jeremiah, who did not vote!
